Culmore Cleanup Scheduled for Nov. 5

The public is invited to participate in the fall 2011 Culmore cleanup in Falls Church on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers will clean up trash and other debris, while bringing awareness to keeping the community clean.
Participants should check in at 9 a.m. at the Woodrow Wilson Library, 6101 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church, to receive trash bags and gloves. Coffee and light refreshments will be offered. Volunteers are asked to call the library at 703-820-8774, ext. 4, to pre-register teams of volunteers.
The cleanup is organized by Alternative House, Bailey’s Beautification Alliance, the Fairfax County Health Department's Division of Environmental Health, Hidden Oaks Nature Center, the Mason District Supervisor’s Office, the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, the Rotary Club of Bailey’s Crossroads and the Woodrow Wilson Library, along with several community organizations. Sponsors include the City Diner, the Coca-Cola Company, Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center, the German Gourmet, John Marshall Bank, Radley Acura, the Rotary Club of Bailey’s Crossroads and Safeway.
