TextPreliminary Forecasts for FY 2013 County Budgets; Public Input Opportunity

Fairfax County Executive Anthony H. Griffin and Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Jack D. Dale presented their preliminary forecasts for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 to the Board of Supervisors and the School Board on Nov. 29. Both the county and FCPS are currently working on developing budget proposals for Fiscal Year 2013, which begins on July 1, 2012.
Griffin is scheduled to present the FY 2013 Advertised Budget at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Feb. 28. Dale is scheduled to release his proposed budget on Jan. 12.
Residents are encouraged to provide input for the FY 2013 Budget. Comments will be accepted through mid-December and provided to the county executive. Given the volume of comments expected, individual responses to comments will not be possible. Comments will be posted in mid-December.
