Housing Authority Ranked High Performer by HUD; Perfect Score for Financial Management
June 22, 2011
On June 17, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
released its scores
for the
Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) for fiscal year 2010. The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority
(FCRHA) ranked among the best of the nation’s more than 3,000
housing authorities with a PHAS score of 94 out of a possible 100,
including a perfect score for financial management. HUD also
recognized the FCRHA as a high performer in the management of its
1,060 federally funded public housing units.
“We are proud of this achievement and are committed to maintaining this high standard for residents of the FCRHA’s housing,” said FCRHA Vice-chair Elisabeth Lardner (Mount Vernon District).
The assessment looks at the physical conditions of the properties; financial and operational management; and resident satisfaction. Housing owned by the FCRHA is managed and maintained by the Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development. For more information, contact Thomas E. Fleetwood, associate director for the FCRHA, at 703-246-5103, TTY 711.
