May Is Building Safety Month in Fairfax County

At its April 26 meeting, the Board of Supervisors declared May as International Building Safety Month in Fairfax County. Building codes are important because they protect people and property by ensuring that buildings are properly constructed and safe.
During the meeting, the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services presented its Community Partnership Award for Building Safety to the Foundation for Applied Technical Education Inc.
In honor of International Building Safety Month, residents can go to

building inspectors and engineers on how to make their homes safe.
