Due to the upcoming retirement of Edward L. Long Jr., Fairfax County deputy county executive and chief financial officer, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors today reclassed Susan Datta as the new chief financial officer as part of an organizational change. Datta will continue to serve as the director of the Department of Management and Budget, and will now oversee the financial operations and central services of the county including the departments of Finance, Tax Administration and Purchasing and Supply Management. She also will maintain a liaison relationship with the Retirement System. Datta will begin her new duties on May 23 at an annual salary of $173,171.
