TextBoard of Supervisors Authorizes Public Hearing to Amend Budget

Today, the Board of Supervisors authorized a public hearing for the board meeting on Sept. 11 to amend the appropriation level in the FY 2013 budget. The Board is scheduled to approve the FY 2012 Budget Carryover package at that time. Carryover is the process by which certain unspent or unencumbered funds for commitments to pay for goods and services at the end of one fiscal year are reappropriated in the next fiscal year. Typically, funds carried over are nonrecurring expenditures, such as capital projects or capital equipment items.
