Virginia State Income Tax:
File by May 1. Penalties apply on all returns filed or paid after
deadline. Mail Virginia income tax returns to:
Virginia Department of
Taxation, P.O. Box 760, Richmond, VA 23218-0760.
Personal Property Tax:
If you registered your vehicle with Fairfax County in 2011, you do not need to file another return. However, you must report any vehicle ownership, name or address change. You can report changes online or call 703-222-8234 ( TTY 703-222-7594), 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. More information.
If you recently moved to Fairfax County or purchased a car, you must register the vehicle within 60 days.
If you have business personal property, or other personal property, such as boats, boat motors, mobile homes or trailers, a return must be filed with Fairfax County by May 1.
