Mount Vernon District Supervisor Gerry Hyland will host the 25th annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School’s Little Theatre, 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria.
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova will discuss the county's priorities. Additional speakers include County Executive Anthony H. Griffin; Fort Belvoir Garrison Commander Col. John J. Strycula; and School Board Mount Vernon Representative Dan Storck. The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
As part of the town meeting, Hyland will guide a “virtual bus tour” of the Mount Vernon District.
Starting at 7:45 a.m., displays and exhibits from more than 66 groups will be available in the cafeteria along with beverages, doughnuts and breakfast pastries before the presentations, which begin at 9:15 a.m.
