Fathers Day Around Fairfax

Father's Day is Sunday, June 15. Treat dad to a weekend of family events around the county and/or quality reading time with a list of recommended reading list all about and for dads.  Plus, dads, get tips to staying healthy and being a positive role model for your children.


Father's Day offers Family Fun, Memories at Local Parks on June 15 and 16 including a gold tournament, the Sully Antique Car Show, wood carving and fishing.

Dad! Stay Healthy for Your Children

  • “Are you a new father? Or a new grandfather?  Be sure to get vaccinated for whooping cough to protect your baby.  The Health Department offers free Tdap vaccine to adults 19 and older:  Learn More. 
  • Make this a smoke-free Father's Day.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encourages dads to model a healthy way of living for their children by making the decision to stop smoking. Learn how to be a role model for smoke-free living to your child and where to go to find resources to help you stop smoking here

Be a Role Model

The Fathers in Touch program is a free parenting class through the Department of Family Services designed to empower fathers, support mothers and enable children to develop strong self-esteem, family identity and values.
