Apply for Free Photo ID (if Needed) to Vote on Nov. 4

The Fairfax County Office of Elections is providing residents with several opportunities countywide to apply for a free photo ID, if needed. Virginia now requires everyone to provide photo ID in order to vote in person on Election Day or at absentee voting locations. Absentee by mail voters do not need photo ID. Acceptable forms of photo ID. The deadline to register to vote  for the Nov. 4 election was Oct. 14.

Photo ID and Voting Demo Roadshows

Members of the Office of Elections will be at the following locations offering photo ID opportunities and demonstrations of the new voting machines.

Thursday, Oct. 23
Bailey's Community Center, 5 to 8 p.m.
5920 Summers Lane, Falls Church

Tuesday, Oct. 28
South County Government Center, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
8350 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria VA

Absentee Voting Locations: Monday to Saturday Through Nov. 1

Registered voters can get a photo ID, if needed, at Fairfax County's seven countywide absentee voting locations, Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Government Center: Monday to Saturday Through Election Day, Nov. 4

Registered voters can get a photo ID, if needed, at the Office of Elections, Suite 323 in the Government Center.  Until Election Day, Nov. 4, extended hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  On Saturdays, the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and voters seeking a photo ID should go to the absentee voting location in the Government Center, Conference Rooms 2/3. Photo IDs will be available on and after Election Day; call 703-222-0776 (TTY 711) for more information.
