What You Need to Know: House of Delegates 48th District Special Election Aug. 19

On Tuesday, Aug. 19, eight Fairfax County precincts in the House of Delegates 48th District will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Special Election to choose a new delegate. This Special Election is only open to voters who live in the House of Delegates 48th District. To check your House of Delegates district and your poll location, go online to the Virginia State Department of Elections, or use the Fairfax County mobile app (click on Vote icon).  

Make sure you are ready to vote by taking these steps:

  • Review the Sample Ballot (PDF)
  • Download the Fairfax County App on Your Smartphone for Voting Info on the Go: More information.
  • Bring a Form of ID to Vote: List of acceptable ID from the Virginia State Department of Elections (photo ID is not required until Nov. 4 General Election).
