June 5, 2014
On Tuesday, June 10, 78 Fairfax County precincts in the 8th Congressional District will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Democratic Primary to choose the Democratic candidate for U.S. House of Representatives. This primary is only open to voters who live in the 8th Congressional District. To check your congressional district and poll location, go online to the Virginia State Board of Elections, or use the Fairfax County mobile app (click on Vote icon).
Make sure you are ready to vote by taking these steps:
- Review the Sample Ballot (PDF). Note: Three candidates, Herring, Korpe and Shuttleworth withdrew as candidates after the deadline to print ballots, so their names remain on the ballot despite their withdrawal.
- Download the Fairfax County App on Your Smartphone for Voting Info on the Go: More information.
- Bring a Form of ID to Vote: List of acceptable ID from the Virginia State Board of Elections (photo ID is not required).
Fairfax County Public Schools are still in session. If your poll is at a school location, please be cautious when driving in that area, especially in the morning and afternoon when buses are unloading or loading and the students are walking or being dropped off.
Look here for unofficial Election Returns when they are available.
