Jan. 7: How Does Your Garden Grow?
Spring will be here before you know it. Get ready with
help from Elin Haaga and Betsy Washington, George Washington
Landscape Design instructors, presenting two lectures on
Garden Design: "What Kind of Garden Do You
Want?" and "Garden Bones." In this double
session, look at and discuss different garden styles and
learn how to create the structure of the garden: paths,

Woodpecker Watch: As they drum
and drill on trees, woodpeckers are ridding our yards and
woodlands of ants, wasps and grubs. Watch a variety of
woodpeckers on the suet feeders at Huntley
Meadows. Learn how to attract them to your yard and,
hopefully, glimpse a flicker on its mission to eat 1,000
insects in a day! 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Huntley Meadows
