Animal Sweethearts Dance: It's back – the
social event of Hidden Pond's winter season! This year the
dancing returns, along with new activities such as a nature
walk with Cupid and animal home building. Watch the new
drama, "The Kingfisher's Speech": the story of a
lonely kingfisher whose shyness in asking someone to come to
the dance with him is also hampered by a gang of
ne'er-do-wells who seek to catch all his fish from the creek.
Refreshments, crafts and more! This program is for ages 3 to
8. 10 a.m. to noon and again from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hidden Pond Nature Center.

Winter Hike: Wonderful Wetland Waterfowl:
Hike the boardwalk to the observation tower and look for
green-winged teals, pintails, swamp sparrows, winter wrens
and hopefully spot a bald eagle. An expert birder will share
natural history and identification tips, and set up the
park’s spotting scope for your bird watching enjoyment. 10

Crabgrass Puppets Present Jack and the
Beanstalk: Jack and his mother are poor and
hungry, but Jack dreams big and changes their lives. This
hilarious show is full of fun and loaded with laughs.

score combine to create giant-size entertainment for those
ages 4 and up. 2 to 3 p.m. at The Alden

For Love: Collection Saturday: To celebrate
the Collectors Showcase exhibit and the Valentine holiday,

and Maple Syrup is Too: The sap is rising and

Live Onstage: The Amazing Gospel Souls: The
Amazing Gospel Souls is a gospel singing group formed at the
DC Department of Corrections’ Lorton prison in 1980. All
current members are ex-offenders, all Washingtonians and now
committed to a gospel ministry, believing that their time at
Lorton was a training period to develop skills and education
which they use now to reach out to young people in their
communities, helping them to find ways to “navigate their way
through this noisy 21st Century.” Enjoy an afternoon of
uplifting music as these Amazing Gospel Souls give testament
