Oct. 3-4 Weekend: Government Services and KidsFest

This weekend, Oct. 3 and 4, you can treat the family to a fun outing and get some things checked off your to-do list. Fall for Fairfax KidsFest takes place Saturday and Sunday and some government services will be available this weekend, too.

Fall for Fairfax KidsFest

When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4,  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will go on rain or shine .

Where: Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. In addition to parking at the Government Center, additional parking is available across the street at the Pennino and Herrity building garages. Look for signs for parking.

Cost: Admission and most activities, exhibits and entertainment are free.

Government Services Available This Weekend

Saturday, Oct. 3, 8 a.m. to noon – The Department of Tax Administration will be open in Suite 223 for residents to pay their Car (Personal Property) Tax, which is due Monday, Oct. 5.

Saturday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Office of Elections will be open in Conference Rooms 2/3 for residents to:

Limited, short-term reserved parking for voters is available in Lot A near the main entrance to the Government Center.

UPDATE: The DMV 2 Go visit has been cancelled for Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4. However, it will be parked outside the Government Center building on Monday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. DMV 2 Go offers all Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle services.
