Fairfax County Permit

Chapter 30-3-1 of the Code of Fairfax requires that persons in Fairfax County obtain a County Home Child Care Permit if they are caring for up to 5 children (other than their own) in their homes. Provider Services staff ensure compliance with the ordinance by assessing, monitoring and providing technical assistance to new applicants and providers who renew their permit each year.

 

 

State License

The Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensing is responsible for licensing family child care homes with 6 to 12 children and programs serving children in center facilities.
