A Day in the Life of a Family Child Care Provider
The Office for Children offers courses that show how to plan activities for children that will help them grow in language, literacy, math, science and other skills they’ll use in school. These activities can be tailored to the ages of the children in care.
A typical day of caring for children can include:
Indoor
group activities, such as moving to music or listening to stories;
Outdoor
group activities, including trips to playgrounds and parks;
Indoor
activities where children play games or act out stories together;
Individual
play with blocks, toys or art materials;
Time
for rest, transitioning from one activity to another, and healthy meals and snacks.
