SACC School Year Program


The SACC program serves children five days a week, Mondays - Fridays. SACC does not provide drop-in, short-term, or partial-week service.

  • Before School – 7:15 a.m. until school begins.
  • After School – End of school day until 6:15 p.m. Fairfax County Public Schools dismiss children early on Mondays. SACC service begins when the children are released.
  • Winter/Spring/Summer Programs – SACC operates winter, spring and summer programs at a number of consolidated sites. Enrollment is on a first come, first-served basis, and additional fees are assessed for each program. The centers are open from 7:15 a.m. through 6:15 p.m.

Digging Deeper Into the Wonders of Nature



Four Focus Areas

Tapping into children’s innate interest and curiosity about the natural world.

The Naturalist focuses on the study of plants, insects, and animals in their natural surroundings.

The Environmentalist advocates and works to protect the air, water, animals, plants, and other natural resources through greener living.

The Scientist (Earth and Life) studies the earth, its life forms, and its neighbors in space.

The Outdoor Recreationist promotes, teaches, and pursues recreational participation in the great outdoors.

 

SACC Environment

SACC centers will focus on elements of nature in both inside and outside spaces.

Conservation Station
The investigation and action lab where children learn stewardship of their community and the earth through hands-on experiences.

The Nature Center
Children’s investigations and discoveries are displayed along with their collections, histories, wildlife photos, artwork, investigative summaries, naturalist journals, AND MORE!
