Camp Discovery 2011
Join us for SACC’s Camp Discovery, where fun and laughter fill the air as minds are inspired and dreams encouraged. This summer, campers can look forward to many new and time-honored camp experiences as they jump into a nature-filled summer of investigation and discovery. From camp songs and cheers to outdoor excursions, there’s something that’s sure to capture each camper’s interest. An adventure-filled summer awaits, whether campers pick a cabin and stay for a while, or explore what each cabin has to offer. Field trips will round out a summer of fun!
Camp Highlights
This summer a traditional camp experience will be offered at 24 SACC sites, and specialty camps will be offered at the Eagle View and Kings Glen sites. SACC’s goal is to provide engaging outdoor and indoor experiences that children will remember. Activities are designed to offer skill-building experiences geared toward all age levels.
Artist’s Cabin – Each week campers will explore various art forms, techniques and mediums with a focus on our natural environment. Creativity, imagination and self-expression will be emphasized as campers develop an appreciation for the visual arts.

Performer’s Cabin – Campers will discover their hidden talents and learn the fundamentals of set building, costume design and stage management as they are introduced to developing and performing in large productions. Campers will have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through singing, dancing, acting and storytelling during bi-weekly performances.

Athlete’s Cabin - Campers will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and develop competencies in various sports and games. Campers will be encouraged to develop a commitment to fitness while discovering the value of being a team player.

Cheerleading and pep squads will be incorporated into sessions three through seven. Each cabin will also incorporate outdoor experiences. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in nature hikes, geocaching, teambuilding challenges, and many other nature experiences as they learn through hands-on activities what they can do to help preserve local habitats.
