John T. Frey grew up in Fairfax County. He has been the Fairfax Circuit Court Clerk since 1992. Prior to becoming Clerk, John was a principal in the law firm of Frey & Autry, P.C.
John is a past president of the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks. He received the Public Official of the Year Award from the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks in 2006, for his commitment to excellence in local government.
John and his wife Sheila live in West Springfield. They have two children, Robert and Stephanie.
