Animal Search with a Naturalist
Early morning is the one of the most active times in Ellanor C. Lawrence Park . From 8 to 9 a.m., see which creatures, feathered or furred, are out with expert naturalist Jim Dewing. He helps you discover a hidden forest filled with animal signs, emerging native plants, and even a few invaders. Bring open eyes, questions, binoculars, and field guides if you wish. Bluegrass Barn Concert: Wayne Taylor and Appaloosa
For the past four years, Wayne has performed with his band Appaloosa, most recently having success with their latest project, It’s Gonna Be a Beautiful Day. Catch the band at Frying Pan Farm Park’s visitor center at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Discover Great Parks in Great Falls
Explore nature and history at Riverbend Park on a 45-minute wagon ride, then continue your journey at Colvin Run Mill where you will see the miller and his dusties harness the power of water to grind grain. Rides depart at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Participants must be at least age five. The cost is $10 per person. Register online.
