Animal Vets
Children ages 7 to 12 meet at Riverbend Park’s nature center from 4 to 5 p.m. and go “behind the scenes” to help care for our exhibit animals. On this special day, take the animal’s vital signs and check their health. An optional Riverbend patch is available for $3.15 per scout. The cost is $5 per person. Register online. Jr. Naturalist: Spring

Garden Sprouts: Showers of Seeds
Children ages three to five with an accompanying adult grab a magnifier and get a close-up look at seeds of all sizes and shapes at Green Spring Gardens from 11 a.m. to noon. Learn how seeds grow, travel, and adapt to survive. Snack on tasty seeds, make a seed craft, then carry some home to plant in your own garden. The cost is $5 per child. Register online. Holding Onto Home: A Civil War Story
Envision a time, years ago, opening the door to find JEB Stuart’s cavalry in the front yard. Excerpts from wartime letters are woven through this specialized tour connecting you with Sully’s Civil War-era owners. The one-hour tour starts at 1 p.m. and the cost is $7 per person. Pages through Time at Historic Huntley
Introduce your children ( ages four to seven years) to America’s colorful history.
