Birding for Beginners: Optics
Interested in birding? We can get you started! Learn about the birds in Huntley Meadows Park from 8 to 11 a.m. and try out different optics. A park naturalist helps you sharpen your bird identification skills. Seasonal topics will be emphasized. Participants must be at least age 12. The cost is $6 per person. Register online. The curator leads this behind the scenes tour of the 1794 home of Richard Bland Lee and his wife, Elizabeth Collins Lee. From 1 to 2 p.m. at Sully Historic Site, get a look at rarely seen Lee family artifacts and hear about their history, preservation and care. The cost is $7 per person. Register online. Bluegrass Barn Concert: Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice
From the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia comes one of bluegrass music’s most honest voices in the genre’s history. Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice are enjoying great success with their latest Rebel Records CD, The Heart of a Song.
