Free Children’s Concert in the Park

Spread your blanket under the trees at Colvin Run Mill from 2 to 3 p.m. and listen to the Fairfax Symphony’s Percussion Duo as they lead us on a journey through “What is Rhythm?” This energetic pair will demonstrate how percussion instruments form the rhythmic foundation of the orchestra. Garden Stroll and Tea

Take a relaxing stroll through Green Spring Gardens from 9 to 11 a.m. and enjoy a traditional English tea at the historic house. This is a delightful introduction to the mission and history of Green Spring Gardens, one of the preeminent places for horticulture in the Washington, D.C. area. A special breakfast tea will be served. Individuals and groups are welcome. The cost is $25 per person. To reserve, call 703-941-7987.

Garden Sprouts: Berry-licious

Raspberry, huckleberry, blueberry - which is your favorite? Learn about fruit and hunt for berries in our gardens. Sessions are held at Green Spring Gardens on Thursday from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. to noon and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. The cost is $6 per child. To register, call 703-642-5173.
