Botanical Ornaments Workshop

Get ready for the holidays by making ornaments from natural materials collected at Green Spring Gardens from 12:30 to 3 p.m. The festive designs of Green Spring staff inspire you to create ornaments of your own. Keep for yourself or give them as gifts. All materials will be provided. The cost is $25 per person. Call 703-642-5173 to reserve your spot.

Ponderings: Animal Abodes

Naturalist Brian reveals how local wildlife, especially mammals, get ready for winter at Hidden Pond Nature Center from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Find out how they make their dens and what they use in them, and then make one. This activity is perfect for 6 to 10-year-olds. The fee is $5 per child. To make a reservation, call 703-451-9588.

Pre-Turkey Circuit Quarter Horse Show

Starting at 8 a.m. at Frying Pan Farm Park, ya’ll come to cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls in the Quarter Horse Show. Western is in! All spectators are free! Call 703-437-9101 for more information.
