Springfield Days Festival
This annual community celebration has expanded to four days of family fun featuring a parade through downtown Springfield, children's rides and games, food, an art show, an entertainment stage, outdoor movies and more. Springfield Days events are presented by Lake Accotink Park, the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and local community groups. Get in on a great tradition! 2008 Brings the 19th Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta - Sunday, June 1st.
Build your own cardboard boat and take on the waters of Lake Accotink for the best fun of the summer. Whether you’re racing or just watching, its always a thrill to see who will sink or float in their cardboard boats. Boat drop-off at 10:00 am. Boat judging starts at noon and the races begin at 2:00 pm. Regatta contestants: register by May 31st, $15 per boat; $25 after May 31st. Boats must be registered by noon on June 1st. No late registrations will be accepted. Admission to the park on June 1st for all activities is FREE, however there will be a $4.00 parking fee in effect throughout the day.
