Inclusion Leader I Internship

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Pay: $11.78/hour, approximately 37.5 – 40.0 hours per week.

Location: RecPAC, RECenter, or Park camp sites throughout Fairfax County

RecPAC Camp Dates:
Training begins Monday, June 24, 2002. Camps begin July 1, M-F through August 9; hours: 8:15- 3:45 PM.
No program July 4th or 5th.

RECenter Dates:
Training begins June 17, 2002. Camps begin June 24, M-F through August 30; hours 9:00-4:00 PM.
No program July 4 & 5.

Required:

• Attends training and orientation
• CPR/First Aid training
• 100% attendance for the duration of the program
• Demonstrate effective teamwork skills (give and receive feedback)

Documentation:

• Completes pre-inclusion survey for each assigned participant
• Demonstrates the ability to write an accommodation plan
• Ensures all assigned participants and parents agree to and sign off on the accommodation plan; modifies plan as needed
• Complete weekly progress notes; sends notes home each Friday
• Documents and completes incident reports accurately and timely
• Submits accurate time and attendance reports on assigned payroll dates

Behavior Management:

• Provides effective interventions and/or strategies for problem solving behavioral issues
• Effectively communicates with all site staff (RecPac and Inclusion or RECenter) are consistent with the implementation of strategies.
• Initiates training, support, and models intervention techniques for other staff.
• Consistently provides daily positive reinforcement to participants/team members.

Programmatic:

• Implements appropriate modifications and adaptations to activity as needed
• Empowers participants to participate to the best of their ability
• Provides sensitivity training for other participants as needed
• Maintains, dispenses, and documents medication as assigned
• Plan, facilitate and evaluate activities based on weekly theme
• Keeps supervisor abreast of staff or participant issues
