Supervisors Appoint William Bouie to Serve on Park Board

William G. BouieWilliam G. Bouie, an active volunteer in the community, as well as a Senior Telecommunications Consultant, was recently selected as Secretary-Treasurer of the Park Authority Board.  He has represented the Hunter Mill District on the Board since his 2005 appointment.

Well-known for his work with youth in the Northern Virginia area, Bouie remains very active and involved.  He is the past president of “The Friends of Reston”, a committee member of Project Gold with the United States Olympic Committee, past chairman of Reston Youth Baseball, assistant district administrator of Little League Baseball in Northern Virginia, past president of the Reston Little League, serves on the Board of Directors of The Pit, a youth teen center, and also served as a member of the Fairfax County Athletic Council.  He was the recipient of the Best of Reston Award in 1993 and was named Lord Fairfax in 1998.

He serves as chairman of the Park Operations Committee and is on the Funding Policy and Bond Committee as well as the Strategic Planning and Initiatives Committee for the Park Board.  He also serves as the liaison to the Arts Council. 

Professionally, Bouie is a man of great accomplishment.  He is the senior vice president of Business Development and Strategic Alliances for HCI Technologies, Inc, a telecommunications and information technology services firm in Reston.  Founded in 1985, HCI has grown to over 110 employees with 2007 projected revenues of $20 million.  Prior to working for HCI, he served as director of telecommunications for Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., and held various technical positions with AT&T Information Systems and Michigan Bell.

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Bouie received his Bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Michigan University, and his Master’s degree in business management from Central Michigan University.  He has participated and served on the Research and Development Council at Bell Labs and has provided consulting services to other major vendors in the telecommunications marketplace.

He and his wife Regina are the parents of two children, Philip and Kerri.  Philip recently graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and Kerri is a senior at Savannah College of Art and Design.  They reside in Reston.
