Park Board: William G. Bouie
Park Authority Board Chairman
William G. Bouie is currently serving his second term in this
leadership role, having been unanimously elected once again in February
2011. Bouie, an active volunteer in the community, as well as a senior
telecommunications executive, has represented the Hunter Mill District on
the Board since 2005. He previously served as the Board vice chairman and
was the first African-American to chair this influential Board.
Well-known for his work with youth in the Northern Virginia area, Bouie remains active and involved. He is the assistant district administrator for Little League Baseball of Northern Virginia, was the Northern Virginia Little League Volunteer of the Year in 2007 and was a Project Gold team member with the United States Olympic Committee. He is a nationally ranked racquetball player.
He also serves on the board of Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts, Public Links, Inc., the Reston Community Center Board of Governors, and the Initiative for Public Art Reston (IPAR). Bouie serves as Chair of the Executive Committee, and is the liaison to the Arts Council.
Professionally, Bouie is a man of great accomplishment. He is currently the President - Public Sector for Telsource Corporation. Previous to that, he served as a Senior Business Development Director for Siemens Enterprise Communications, Senior Vice President - Business Development with HCI Technologies of Reston, VA, and director of telecommunications for Michigan Consolidated Gas.
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Bouie received his bachelor's degree in political science from Western Michigan University, and his master's degree in business management from Central Michigan University. He has participated and served on the Research and Development Council at Bell Labs and has provided consulting services to other major vendors in the telecommunications marketplace.
He and his wife Regina reside in Reston.
