Fay brings a wealth of environmental expertise as well as knowledge about fundraising and securing grants that is invaluable to the Park Authority's land acquisition and development efforts. Fay is a longtime resident of Fairfax County and serves as president of Alcalde & Fay, a government and public affairs firm, considered one of the largest independent lobbying and communications firms in the Washington area. In addition to being a successful businessman, Fay has been recognized worldwide for his global environmental policy expertise. He is well-known in the McLean area for a broad range of community activities including his five-year tenure as president of McLean Little League and 14 years of coaching baseball, softball and soccer. Fay was the first McLean Little League president who was also a player in the league. As a former president of the St. Luke Catholic School Parent-Teacher organization, Fay led the effort to design and construct the school's junior high wing and parish educational center. Fay has previously served on the Fairfax County Airport Advisory Committee, the Dulles Council Land Use Task Force and the Fairfax County Athletic Council. Fay and his wife Nancy and their four children, Lindsey, Ryan, Colin and Peter, reside in McLean. The Fays have worked in their community to raise significant funds for Saint Luke Church, Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School, McLean Little League, Saint Patrick's Foundation of Jamaica, W.I., the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the World Children's Choir. In January 2000, he was named Citizen of the Year by The McLean Times and Providence Journal. Later that year, he was honored as a recipient of the Lord Fairfax Award from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Fay is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He received his J.D. in 1981 from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. and, in 1977, was an honors graduate from the University of Virginia, where he has lectured at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. |

Kevin J. Fay has served on the Fairfax County Park Authority Board as the Dranesville District representative since January, 2003. In that capacity he has worked diligently to provide new recreational amenities for the Dranesville District and to preserve both historic and natural resources whenever possible. These efforts have resulted in new athletic fields, a fully accessible playground, new trails and the preservation of historic Salona.
