Kenneth G. Feng

Kenneth G. Feng has served as the Springfield District representative to the board since October 1996. Feng came to the Park Authority Board with more than 26 years of public service at all levels and branches of government. His experience includes local government, state universities and the United States Congress. His career started with seven years service in the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Intelligence Bureau, Patrol and Civil Divisions.

Feng's experiences as an evaluator in the Los Angeles Regional Office, specializing in auditing defense and law enforcement programs, and as senior evaluator at headquarters, serving as project manager in the Office of Personnel and the National Security and International Affairs Division brought him to the Washington area to continue his service. His federal career spans over 20 years with the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO). During his tenure at the GAO, he was detailed to two congressional committees - the Joint Economic Committee to investigate government procurements and the Senate Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management to prepare hearings on issues involving the defense industry.

Feng has degrees in psychology and sociology from California State University, a Master's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California, and a Juris Doctor from Western State University. He is also a graduate of the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington D.C. and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. In addition, Feng worked as part of the adjunct faculty for California State University at Long Beach and Fullerton, teaching public policy analysis and organizational behavior.

He has also served Fairfax County as a member of the Civil Service Commission. During his tenure on the Park Authority Board he has served as Board Treasurer and chairman of the Resource Management Committee. His current committee assignments include chairman of Administration, Management and Budget and service on Membership, Diversity and Succession and the Elly Doyle Park Service Awards.
