Grain Grinding at Colvin Run Mill

Grain Grinding
First and Third Sundays beginning April 2
noon-3 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: Our second grinding of the season will be held April 23 instead of April 16 due to the Easter holiday.

No reservations required.
See and hear 19th century technology at work! The miller will be grinding, conditions permitting. Please call the site to confirm. Tour cost: $7 adults, $6 student 16 and up with ID, $5 child and senior.

Maple Syrup Boil-Down
Sundays, Feb. 5, 12 and Mar. 5
noon to 2 p.m.
No reservations required.
The sap is rising and the maple trees are tapped. Now it’s sugaring time! Bundle up, brave the weather, watch and learn as sap is boiled down into sweet syrup over an open fire. Sample the delicious combination of maple syrup over fresh baked cornbread. While supply lasts! This is an outdoor program, please dress appropriately. The cost is $5/person.

Premium Tea and Chocolate Pairing
Saturday, Feb. 11
1 to 3 p.m.

This delectable seminar has become a pre-Valentine’s Day tradition! Sip premium teas and savor decadent chocolate varieties ranging from white to extra dark. Hear a bit of history and the similarities between the tea plant and the cacao tree as you learn how to pair premium tea and chocolate successfully to bring out the best of both. Sample treats made with tea and chocolate. A take home tea sampler is included. Presented by Certified Tea Specialist Chef Laurie Bell of Great Falls Tea Garden. The cost is $35/person. No reservations required

(2 - 9 years) Hunt for eggs filled with treats and treasures on the grounds of Colvin Run Mill Historic Site. Separate hunts by age group. Before the hunt, make egg-cellent crafts to take home. Bring your own basket; program will be held rain or shine.
