Sunday, the Northern Virginia Wood Carvers will teach free carving lessons with a nominal charge for wood blanks ( appropriate for ages 6-96), the miller will be grinding while you tour the mill, visit farm animals and play old-fashioned games. 16 Thursday Children’s Concert in the Park 2-3pm, Colvin Run Mill, 703-759-2771. Spread your blanket under the trees and listen to the Fairfax Symphony Percussion Duo as they lead us on a journey through “What is Rhythm?” This energetic pair will demonstrate how percussion instruments form the rhythmic foundation of the orchestra. Base price of $175 includes two hours in the barn party area with a mill staff host and maximum 15 children. $50 nonrefundable deposit required upon reservation. Available April through November.
