Preserving Our History

Colvin Run Mill is a unique place -- a restored 19th century water-powered gristmill in Great Falls, Virginia. Our beautiful mill is an engineering marvel. This photo essay gives a short history of the mill, shows the Fairfax County Park Authority's first restoration 30 years ago, and the most recent work carried out on the mill over the last two years. This latest work includes reconstruction of a new waterwheel that will allow Colvin Run Mill to grind grain once again.
