Equestrian Trails
Saddle up your horse and walk, trot or canter along one of the many wooded equestrian trails in the county. The following list of bridle paths within Fairfax County are currently available for public use. Many of these trails are not well marked and become overgrown at intervals, particularily during late spring and summer. Some areas may not be suitable for riding during wet weather. While searching for public trails, please respect the rights of property owners and other trail users you may encounter. Equestrian use is prohibited in the vicinity of all Fairfax County Park Authority playing fields, picnic areas, concession stands, recreation buildings and other facilities not specified for equestrian use. The Park Authority does not rent out horses or provide riding lessons.
