Farm Animal Babies: Birthing Schedule

Due Date

Jersey Cow

Born February 2
The first new farm baby of 2015 has arrived! Goldie weighed 71 lbs. at birth and is named in honor of the fish celebrity who co-starred with her mom, Anastasia, in NatGeo WILD's Fish Bowl II.

Dorset Ewe

Born February 10
Meg had lamb triplets! These two rams and little ewe are the first lambs of 2015 officially kicking-off the lambing season at the park.

Suffolk 206

Born March 18
One of our Suffolk Ewes delivered twin lambs in the early hours of March 18. She had one ram (boy) and one ewe (girl). This brings our lamb count to 5. With 6 more ewes expected to deliver between now and May, any guesses on the final lamb count for Spring 2015?

Alpine Doe

Born March 3
Even when Frying Pan Farm Park buys instead of breeds, we still like to welcome newly purchased babies to the farm family. Pee-Wee and Herman are Alpine goat brothers born March 3rd. They were purchased from a local goat dairy farm that produces cheese and will drink milk from our Jersey cow, Anastasia. Give them a warm welcome when you visit them in Kidwell Barn!

Alpine Doe

Alpine Doe

Born March 19 & 20
What says spring more than baby chicks? Frying Pan Farm Park hatched their first chicks of the year on March 19 and 20. The chicks are a mix of Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, and Ameraucana Chickens and are on display in the Egg Room behind the hand-washing sinks in the farm yard. Although they are only a couple days old, these little cuties are already making the rounds and appearing at other parks so be on the look-out for them at your local park's spring events!
