The barn, indoor arena and Meeting House are not heated or air conditioned.
- For badge programs, all requirements are met to complete the badge.
- For elective programs, the electives listed are covered.
- Scout leaders will need to purchase the badges separately.
Daisy
Using Resources Wisely:
Length: 1 hour
Meets: Kiosk
Concludes: Kidwell Barn classroom
Requirements covered:
Green petal (the petal is the Daisy equivalent of a badge, and the
girls complete their Green petal for Using Resources Wisely at the
program)

Making My Family Special, Achievement #1:
Length: 1 hour
Meets: Kiosk
Concludes: Kidwell Farmhouse
Requirements covered:
1g Go see it activity (They will visit an old farm or
historical building... (and) discover how family life was the same and
how it was different many years ago.)
- This covers the Go see it portion of the Making My Family Special Achievement, which is a required activity, not an elective.
Bear Cub Scouts
What Makes America Special, Achievement #3:
Length: 1 hour
Meets: Kiosk
Concludes: Meeting house on Centreville Rd. (or farmyard)
NOTE: The location of this program is dependent on
weather and daylight remaining. Drivers may be needed to
transport Scouts between locations.
Requirements covered:
b Important Americans
c Two old homes
d Visit a historic building (Meeting House)
e State emblems
- They will complete the requirements for this Achievement.
Farm Animals, Elective #16:
Length: 1 hour
Meets: Kiosk
Concludes: Kidwell Barn classroom
½ hour outside, ½ hour in barn classroom
Requirements covered:
a Take care of a farm animal (grooming)
b Six breeds of farm animals and uses
c Story about a farm animal
d Visit a livestock exhibit (Kidwell Farm)

Machine Power, Elective #8:
Length: 1 ½ hour

Concludes: Kidwell barn classroom

a Name ten machines
b Use a wheel and axle
c Use a pulley
d Observe a windlass

Animal Science Merit Badge:
Length: 2 hours
