April 9 (Saturday)

Junior/Parent Tournament

(7 yrs. and up) 8am-noon, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Teams of 2 players compete in an 18-hole scramble format.  Closest to the pin contests.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place teams in 2 age divisions:  Adult/Jr. 7-12; Adult/Jr. 13-17.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to event.  Limited to first 48 teams.  Rain date April 16.  Cost: $60/team.  Fee due at time of registration, includes lunch.

JUNE

June 18 (Saturday)

Father's Day Golf Tournament

(7 yrs. & up) 8am-noon, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Teams of 2 players compete in an 18-hole scramble format in 3 divisions: Father/Jr. 7-12; Father/Jr. 13-17; Father/Adult partner.  Closest to the pin contests.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in all 3 divisions.  Limited to first 48 teams.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to event.  Rain date June 25.  Cost: $60/team.  Fee due at time of registration, includes lunch.

JULY

 July 13 (Wednesday)

Junior 18-hole Tournament

(7-17yrs.) 8am-noon, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Junior golfers compete in an 18-hole individual stroke tournament.  Players compete in 3 age divisions:  10 & under, 11-13, 14-17.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in all divisions.  Closest to the pin contests.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to event.  Rain date:  July 20.  Cost: $20/Jr. program members, $25/non-jr. program members, includes lunch.  Fee due at time of registration. 

AUGUST

August 17 (Wednesday)

Junior Club Championship

(7-17 yrs.), 8am-noon, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Junior golfers compete in the season-ending tournament.  An 18-hole individual stroke tournament for all age divisions: 10 & under, 11-13, 14 -17.  Closest to the pin contests.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in all 3 divisions.  Special prize for overall low gross champion.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to event.  Rain date August 24.  Cost: $20/jr. program members, $25/non-jr. program players, includes lunch.  Fee due at time of registration.

SEPTEMBER

September 24 (Saturday)

Club Championship

8am-10am, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Players compete in an 18-hole individual stroke tournament.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.  Closest to the pin contests.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to event.  Rain date: October 1.  Cost: $30, includes lunch.  Fee due at time of registration.

OCTOBER

October 7 (Friday)

Shot in the Dark Nite Tournament 

(12 yrs. and up) 8pm, Burke Lake Golf Course, 703-323-1641.  Teams of 2 play a 9-hole scramble using glow-in-the-dark balls.  Hors d'ouevres served beginning at 7pm.  Fee includes 1 glow ball and flashlight.  Additional glow balls are $5 each.  Closest to the pin contests.  Registration begins 2 weeks prior to the event.  Limited to first 18 teams.  Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place teams.  Rain date October 14.  Cost: $60/team.  Fee due at registration.

Super Seniors Tournament

(Ages 70 & Up) 9:00am Shotgun Start. Seniors compete in an 18-hole individual stroke play tournament. Four divisions: 70-75 men, 76-81 men, 82 & older men, and 70 and older women. Prizes for 1st and 2nd low gross in each division. Fees are $20 per person plus greens fees (cart included). Breakfast and lunch are included in the registration fee. Father’s Day Scramble Tournament

(8 years old and Up) 9:00 am Tee-Time Start. Teams of two (father/grandfather & son/daughter) pick the better of each shot and both hit from that spot until the hole is completed. One person of the team must have a current VSGA handicap or other valid USGA handicap. Prizes awarded for flight winners. Fees are $10 plus greens fees and cart. Greendale's Club Championship, Saturday, October 1st
18-Hole, individual stroke play event. Players compete in four divisions: Men (18-54), Ladies (18 & Older), Seniors (55-64), Super Seniors (65 & Older). Prizes are awarded for both low gross and low net winners in each division.

Entry Fee: $60 per person. A $10 per person NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to register. Final payment is due day of play. Greens fee, power cart usage, and prizes are included with entry fee. Participants must have a current Greendale VSGA handicap. Participants may select ONE partner, Greendale will complete the foursome based on participants competitive divisions.

Greendale reserves the right to issue tee-times. Tee-times will be assigned consecutively starting at 9:00 am. Entry deadline is Tuesday, September 27th. Rain-Date, October 8th, 2011. (8 years and up), 9am, Jefferson Golf Course, 703-573-0444. Teams of two compete in this alternating shot format. Teams are divided into age groups based upon the child's age: 8-10, 11-13, and 14-17. Prizes awarded and lunch provided. Reservation required. Rain date is July 16. Cost is $45 per team for Junior Program members and $55 per team for non-members.

Four-Hole Play Lesson

(2011 Junior Program members only), 1pm, Jefferson Golf Course, 703-573-0444. This four-hole play lesson with an instructor from the Every Body Golf School is aimed at junior golfers who want to brush up on their game or are fresh from classes at the driving range. Advance reservation is required. $15 per person (cash only).

Prizes awarded in each flight as well as for closest-to-the-pin and long drive. Advance registration required by August 3. $55 per person (includes greens fees, lunch and prizes). 21st Annual Shot in the Dark Tournament

(15 yrs. and up) 6pm, Jefferson Golf Course, 703-573-0444. This is the original night-time golf tournament played with glow-in-the-dark golf balls, candle-lined fairways and illuminated flags. Teams of two compete in a nine-hole scramble format. There will be tournament prizes, dinner and a raffle for door prizes. Advance registration required. Sign up by September 1st and the cost is $65/team. After September 1st the cost is $75/team. No refunds. Rain date is October 8.

Superintendent’s Halloween Revenge

Pinecrest Golf Course, 703-941-1061 (x5). Ninehole, two-person scramble, 10am shot-gun start. $70 per team ($10 non-refundable deposit due at sign-up). Entry fee includes t-shirt, lunch and riding cart. Unique prizes awarded! Special gift to everyone dressed in costume! Pinecrest staff is plotting revenge and will be watching as you play through outlandish obstacles and punishing pin placements. Space limited - don’t miss out on the ghostly fun - register now! Friday June 3rd
21st Annual Combo Classic Golf Tournament

Teams of two, must include golfer with a disability, registration 11am with 12:30pm shotgun, Twin Lakes Golf Course, 703-631-9099, ext. 203. This classic tournament is the only one of its kind in the DC Metro area to pair able bodied golfers and golfers with disabilities. Competitors will play the Lakes Course (18 holes, par 72). A box lunch will be provided and tournament contests will consist of, closet-to-the-hole and longest drives. A buffet dinner and awarding of contest prizes will follow the conclusion of tournament play. Two flights; 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team prizes. Twin Lakes Golf Course. 703-631-9099 ext. 204. Teams of two compete in an 18 hole scramble. Nightmarish layout, frightening pin placements, ghoulish food and spooky prizes! 10am shotgun start. The cost is $160/team of two. Space is limited so register early. Rain date is Friday, October 21st.
