Fairfax County Garden Plot Rental Program
The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) offers Fairfax County residents the opportunity to have a garden through the Garden Plot Rental program. More than 650 garden plots in 9 County parks are rented to Fairfax County residents on an annual basis. Gardeners who keep their plots incompliance are offered renewal leases for subsequent years.
Most plots are approximately 20' x 30'. The annual rental fee is $125, which includes a shared water supply. An exception is Eakin Park, where there is no water supply and plots rent for $120 per year.
Gardeners are not required to have a fence, however, if they choose to have one, it becomes the gardener's responsibility to supply and maintain the fence and gate according to the Rules and Guidelines (below).
Each gardener is responsible for the activity within his or her plot. Fairfax County does not supply community tools or equipment.
Read the Garden Plot Rules & Guidelines before signing up for a garden plot so that you fully understand the commitment you will be making. All garden plot renters are obligated to meet established deadlines, to actively garden in the plot during the season, and to keep weeds under control at all times. Fall and winter crops are encouraged. Site checks are conducted throughout the year to ensure compliance.
