Hunter HouseBuilt in 1890 by Scots immigrant John C. Hunter, Hunter House began as a small frame farmhouse. While it retains much of its original character, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, and large windows, the house has been expanded into a spacious facility. Over the years Hunter House has been the center of a working farm, and after Prohibition, a winery producing "Virginia Maid" wine. Today, Hunter House offers two rooms, a large entry hallway, screened porch, cold kitchen, beautiful border gardens, and large shaded lawn for your dinner party of up to 50, cocktail reception of up to 75, or garden party of up to 200. Located in Nottoway Park, just a 10 minute walk from the Vienna Metro, Hunter House is a quiet sanctuary convenient to all the major business districts in Northern Virginia and is an ideal location for meetings, seminars, or retreats. Nestled among the wooded areas, tennis and volleyball courts, and the other recreational facilities of the park, Hunter House is also the perfect location for a company picnic. Hunter House is at 9601 Courthouse Road in Nottoway Park in Vienna. It may be reached by taking Beltway Exit 49 (Route 66 west) to route 243 (Nutley Street north) to a left on Courthouse Road to the park entrance on the left.
