Educational Programs

Our educational programs give students hands on experiences with the wonders of nature. Linked below are the menus for the upcoming sessions.

 

March

23 Saturday
Park Manager Walk and Talk

(Adults) 4-6pm. Join Park Manager Kevin Munroe to learn about the wetland restoration project and go for a walk to look for plants and animals in the park’s 50 acre marsh. No reservations needed. Canceled if rain. FREE

April

20 Saturday
Park Manager Walk and Talk

(Adults) 4-6pm. Join Park Manager Kevin Munroe to learn about the wetland restoration project and go for a walk to look for plants and animals in the park’s 50 acre marsh. No reservations needed. Canceled if rain. FREE 

May

5 Sunday
Wetlands Awareness Day

(All ages) noon-4pm. Enjoy an active, colorful afternoon with live animal presentations, nature activities and family fun in this 1,500 acre park with its wetland boardwalk and wildlife observation tower. Bring friends and family to learn all about wetland ecology, local natural history and the importance of our wetlands! There is a small fee for some activities.

11 Saturday

Art Shows

FOHMP Photo Contest show thru the end of February
See Huntley Meadows from a new perspective. All photos displayed are taken at Huntley Meadows from photography entrants, including youth and adults. Many photos are available for sale. Photo sales go to benefit the Friends of Huntley Meadows Park.

Leon Nawojchik
March-April

Leon Nawojchik is a naturalist and photographer. Leon is now retired and previously was the manager of Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly.

Michael DuBois
May-June, meet the photographer May 5

Michael DuBois popular photography show will return this spring with new pieces. Many pictures will be available for sale.
