Come celebrate your birthday in the great outdoors! Choose your party topic – Insect Investigation, Reptiles and Amphibians, How Old Are You?, Wetland Wonders or Nature Hike. Other topics may be available upon request.

Party Particulars

Parties are scheduled for a two hour block. Families will have the outdoor classroom to set up their party food and decorations.  Supervision of children in the outdoor classroom and straightening up post-party is the party host's responsibility.

The $225 fee covers 20 or fewer children. Parties are for ages 4-12 years. An additional $12 fee is assessed per child over 20, up to a maximum of 30 children. Siblings ages 12 years and under count as party participants. The children will be seated for cake and ice cream, provided by the family, at the tables. Food and beverages may only be consumed at the tables.

Party participants enjoy a 60 minute naturalist-led presentation including a craft and a nature walk. The party hosts must have the trash bagged and the outdoor classroom area returned as found.

To Book a Party:

1. Call 703-768-2525 to request a date and time for your party.

2. Upon receiving the email notice of your party date acceptance, complete and return the party agreement form with the full fee. Cancellations made more than two weeks from the party date receive full refunds minus a nonrefundable $25 administrative fee. No refunds are made for cancellations within two weeks from the party date. Staff will review the program outline with you upon request.

3. Bring your party food and supplies to Huntley Meadows on the day of your party. Ice cream and beverages may be stored in our refrigerator. Please make arrangements one week in advance if you require storage for more than one gallon of ice cream or more than three gallons of beverage. Red beverages and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

4. You are welcomed to bring decorations but we request that no balloons be used. We encourage environmentally-friendly decorations! No stapling to posts or messy decorations.
