WORKHOUSE HILLS

AREA DESCRIPTION: Undulating hills and meadows are characteristic of the Workhouse Hills area’s pastoral history. The Master Plan proposes uses that would complement the adaptive reuse of the Occoquan Workhouse such as an exhibit area for various art and sculpture displays, ornamental garden areas, a periodic market and picnic shelters. Recreation is proposed through a variety of trails that traverse the open meadows and hills, as well as designated locations for tent and RV camping. These trails will connect to the Laurel Hill Greenway and other elements of the park.

PROPOSED USES & ACTIVITIES: Sculpture Park, Periodic Market, Gardens & Picnic Areas
