Wheel-thrown with incised lines near base, neck and collar. Attached handle. Overall exterior glaze of pipe clay with brushed-on cobalt leaf motif and daubed copper oxide decoration. Clear glazed interior, unglazed bottom. Marked “S. Bell & Son, Strasburg” for maker Solomon Bell of Strasburg, Virginia.
