FAIRFAX COUNTY PARK AUTHORITY Proposed Internship Projects PARK OPERATIONS DIVISION Title: Park Operations Management Internship Description: Management internship at Clemyjontri Park. Gain exposure to all aspects of park administration and operations, including supervision of employees and volunteers. Completion of special project to be chosen by intern. Requirements: College student, computer skills, supervisory experience preferred.   Title: Park Physical Inventory Description: Inventory/Survey of park physical assets and recreational amenities. Requirements: Parks and Recreation major, engineering students.   Title: Trail System Mapping Description: Survey and mapping of trail systems within the park system. Requirements: Parks and Recreation major, landscape architecture students.   Title: Equipment Certification Standards Description: Standardization of employee certification for equipment operation. Requirements: Public Administration, Business students, engineering student.   Title: Stream Valley Condition Survey Description: Survey/Assessment of Stream Valley problems, erosion, tree problems. Requirements: Parks and Recreation major, landscape architecture, engineering students.   Title: Landscaping Inventory Description: Survey of existing landscaping at the RECenters. Requirements: Parks and Recreation major, Landscape Architecture students, drafting and drawing ability.   Title: GPS Mapping of Trails Description: Use of Global Positioning System unit to map trails, stream crossings, culverts, bridges. Requirements: Engineering, Landscape Architecture students, drafting and drawing ability.   Title: Employee Orientation Package Description: Development of a Park Operations Division new employee orientation package that deals with daily operations, responsibilities and safety. Requirements: Parks and Recreation major, Public Administration, and Business students.   Title: Park Condition Survey Description: Inventory/Survey of conditions of internal park roadways and parking lots.
