Temporary Cross County Trail Detour in Laurel Hill to Begin

Temporary Cross County Trail Detour in Laurel Hill to Begin

Those who love to hike, bike, walk, or run on the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail (GCCCT) in southern Fairfax County are going to need to take a path less traveled as construction forces a temporary detour.

The Fairfax County Adaptive Re-Use project in Laurel Hill started construction on January 13, 2016. Part of the initial construction involves underground utility work that will impact the GCCCT between the Spring Hill Development and the Adaptive Re-Use site. A detour will be put in place prior to the closing of the trail. The trail will be closed for approximately four months beginning the last week of January. Trail users are asked to please obey all signs and follow the detour route.
