Park Board Honors RMD Donors For $120,000 In Support
The Fairfax County Park Authority Board recognized corporate and individual donors that offered financial support to the Resource Management Division over the past year. In all, the Board recognized donors that collectively provided $120,000 in support at their regular meeting on February 8, 2012. Donors received resolutions touting their good works and generosity. Honorees included:
- Datatel, Inc which donated $1,500 to support interpretive programs and operational activities at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park.
- The Kiwanis Club of Annandale which donated $2,000 for interpretive programs and operational support at Hidden Oaks Nature Center.
- Katja Helbing, Claus Helbing, Kristina Svensden and A.C. Svensden who each donated $1,250 for support of interpretive programs and operational activities at Green Spring Gardens.
- David and Beverly Morse for their $500 donation to the Joan Kolb Children’s Garden Fund at Green Spring Gardens.
- Robert Buillons who donated $1,000 to the Joan Kolb Children’s Garden Fund at Green Spring Gardens.
- Timothy and Barbara Schmidt who donated $500 for the Virginia Native Plant Trail Study at Green Spring Gardens.
- The Potowmack Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society for their donation of $2,000 to support an intern at Huntley Meadows Park.
- Ryan’s Fund for a donation of $1,709.61 for a park bench at Huntley Meadows Park.
- The Hunting Creek Garden Club for their donation of $10,300 for natural resource management and environmental education at Huntley Meadows Park.
- Carole Ann Stover for a donation of $560 for natural resource management and environmental education at Huntley Meadows Park.
- The Emily Monk Davidson Foundation donated $3,000 for volunteer program support at Huntley Meadows Park.
- The George Washington University donated $1,677 for support of interpretive programs and operational activities at Sully Historic Site.
