Public Meeting Slated for Greenbriar Commons Park Master Plan

The Fairfax County Park Authority has prepared a draft master plan for Greenbriar Commons Park in Fairfax, Va., and will hold a public comment meeting to present the draft plan and receive public comments. The meeting will be held on June 24, 2014 at 7 p.m. at Greenbriar East Elementary School in the cafeteria. The school is located at 13006 Point Pleasant Drive in Fairfax.

This five-acre local park located across from the elementary school at 13007 Point Pleasant Drive in Fairfax contains a number of existing park elements which are proposed to remain including a sand volleyball court, a playground and an open play area. The plan proposes a new picnic shelter to be located near the Point Pleasant Road frontage of the park.

We encourage you to attend and provide your thoughts to the draft plan.  Those who wish to speak may sign up in advance by contacting the Public Information Office at 703-324-8662 or via email at Parkmail@fairfaxcounty.gov.  You may also sign up to speak at the meeting.  Individuals may speak for three minutes.  Those speaking on behalf of an organization may speak for five minutes.  Each organization may have one speaker. A 30-day public comment period will begin following the meeting.
