Park Authority to Clear Ruckstuhl Park Structures

The Fairfax County Park Authority will begin demolition of three single-family homes and accessory structures at the Lily Ruckstuhl Neighborhood Park this month. The demolition work will include all structures on the property in addition to all fencing. Construction access to the site will be from the existing driveways on Idylwood Road and Dunford Drive. Completion is slated for early October 2012.

The Park Authority worked hand-in-hand with the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust to acquire these seven acres. This new park will go through the Park Authority’s regular master planning process to determine its possible uses and potential site amenities. This is a public process designed to elicit input from the community. No timetable has been set for the master plan at this time.

For more information about this demolition work or the property, contact Project Manager Melissa Emory at 703-324-8752.
