TextNike Park Field Improvement Project Gets Underway
The Fairfax County Park Authority will begin making improvements to Great Falls Nike Park located at 1089 Utterback Store Road, Great Falls, VA. Work will include the conversion of existing grass field #4 to a synthetic turf field as well as the creation of a new trail, storm drainage facilities, enhanced storm water management facilities, landscaping, field lighting, and related improvements.
The project will get started in the next couple of weeks and is anticipated to be completed by November 2012. The Great Falls Lacrosse Association, Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services, Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services and the Fairfax County Park Authority are working in partnership to provide funding for these improvements. The total construction costs anticipated for the project are $1,011,910.
