Virginia Indian Festival Sept 8 at Riverbend Park
The Virginia Indian Festival returns to Riverbend Park on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Spend a wonderful day meeting Native Americans from the Chickahominy, Mattaponi, Pamunkey, Rappahannock, Tauxenent, Upper Mattaponi tribes and the Monacan Nation.
See dance performances, and learn about early Indian skills through the dug-out canoe demonstration. Try throwing a spear or shooting a bow. The festival will feature crafts for sale such as pottery, jewelry, flutes and dream catchers. You’ll also find lunch and snacks for sale, plus music CDs and T-shirts.
Admission to the festival is $5 per person. Riverbend Park is located at 8700 Potomac Hills Street in Great Falls.
